Youth/Child Care
Services
Pre-school Playhouse: Three
year old class: Academic, social and
recreational program that promotes learning and fun through a
variety of activities including games, stories, field trips, arts
and crafts, etc. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30
am - 11:00 am. Classes are held at Benton Hall Academy.

Preschool
Playhouse: Four year old class: Academic, social
and recreational program that promotes learning, fun and
kindergarten readiness. Class includes circle time, games,
stories, arts and crafts, letters, and
numbers. Classes are held at Benton Hall Academy on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am - 12:30. Instructor:

Universal Pre-K at Benton Hall
Academy: A comprehensive, collaborative,
developmentally appropriate early childhood education program and
support services designed to strengthen the ability to achieve New
York State standards and to provide a balance of educational,
playful, interactive interdisciplinary and group activities.
AM and PM sessions offered, each meeting 5 days per week throughout
the school year. Director: Andrea Toher,

Six to Six
Program: On site at Remington Elementary School
in Ilion and Benton Hall Academy in Little Falls. Provides a
safe, nurturing and educationally stimulating childcare program.
Designed to develop the necessary skills to insure a strong
foundation of social, personal and readiness skills for school.
Annual registration fee: $15. Full week:
$108/ 1st child, $81/2nd child, $61/3rd child and UPK. (3,4,5
days is considered a full week.) Daily: $24.

Youth Center:
A multi-purpose program for youth in grades 2-12.
Supervised gym and swim program. Program operates Monday,
Wednesday and Friday from 3-5 pm. Swim hours are from 4-4:45
p.m. open to youth in grades 2 and up who are able to swim.
Weight room privileges during designated hours for students
in grades 9 and up. Students in 7th and 8th grade need
orientation and permission. Evening and weekend gym use are
available for older students as posted. Programs for
Youth Center are free of charge. Contact Lisa Sarto at

Better World
Club: Helping youth make a difference.
This group engages youth in Middle School and High School in
world issues. Two main projects are undertaken by the youths
involved in this group: Amnesty International and
anysolider.com. At our meetings youth write
appeals on behalf of human rights worldwide and also create cards
for American soldiers serving overseas. In addition to
special events such as Martin Luther King Day of Service at the
YMCA, students meet at the Little Falls Middle School and the Little
Falls High School at separate times. Alternate Wednesdays

NEW Super Strength
Class: Get strong results with this proven
weight room style exercise program. This program incorporates
the use of dumbbells, benches, and core targeted floor exercises
that target arms, shoulders- Guts and Butts!

Designed to help reduce stress and increase a sense of well being.

Total Fitness Workout in Just 4 - 8 Minutes!! This unique program
provides a total body workout and is designed to enable users to
develop lean muscle mass, while at the same time providing a great
cardio workout. This program is under the instruction of
Jerry Walczak. Instructors will provide orientation and
instruction on proper use of the equipment as well as develop a
workout plan. Fee: $45/member for 10 weeks- $50/non-member

Karate:
Great activity for the whole family. Instructor Mike

Cycling: All ages and fitness levels are welcome
to discover the fun and cardio benefits of indoor cycling.

Swim: This program offers water adjustment and
socialization time for children ages 6 months and up. The
child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Classes
meet once a week for a five week session offered throughout the

Red Cross Swim
Lessons: Five levels of instruction
for beginning through advanced swimmers. Classes meet once a

Water Aerobics:
Program offers a variety of stretching and strength training
movements into a 30 minute workout utilizing light weights and swim

Splash Parties:
Rent the pool for your child's birthday party. Package
includes one hour of pool time with a certified lifeguard plus one
hour use of refreshment room and gym. Contact the YMCA for

includes a $25.00 returnable security deposit.
Payment/contract must be made 2 weeks before scheduled party.
2 hours of Gym/Game Room use only: $65.00 which includes a

Senior Swim:
Daily recreation and therapeutic swim for our senior
population. Attendees are welcome to make new friends or
catch up with old friends while they have a self-guided
rehabilitation or fitness swim. Pool is restricted to adults
only. Monday through Friday 9:00 -11:00
am.
Lap Swim:
Restricted to lap swim only. Adults only. Others with
permission of executive diretor. Exercise, recreation or
training. Mondays & Wednesdays 5:00 -6:00
p.m.
Youth Swim:
Youth in the Little Falls City School District who are in 2nd
grade or older and able to swim can enjoy the
pool. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4-4:45
p.m. Available throughout the school year! FREE OF
CHARGE.
Family Swim:Bring the whole family for an enjoyable evening of fun.
Mon. & Wed. 6-7 p.m. Fri. 5-6 p.m. We ask
you to please respect the concept of family swim time which is not
designed to accommodate large groups. The pool may be
reserved for this purpose. All children under 18 years of age
must be accompanied by an adult. Non-swimming children or children
wearing a floatation device must be accompanied by an adult in the
water. Please restrict your group to your immediate family
members. Fee: $3.00/ Senior, $4.00/ Adult, $2.00/ Youth,
$7.50/ Family (2 adults and up to 4 children immediate family only,

All swims are free to YMCA members unless

Golf
Instruction:Lessons for
beginner/intermediate golfers involving all aspects of golf from
driving to putting. At completion of the lessons, you will be
ready to play golf. Begins February Start Date TBA and
runs for 5 weeks on Saturday mornings. 9-10 &
1:15-11:15. Class size limited to 8 people.

Basic
Canoe and Kayak Programs For Youth in
grades 5-8 and
Adults. The single day program is
designed to introduce youth and adults to the lifetime sport of
canoeing and kayaking.All programs will
meet at the Little Falls Marina (Rotary Park) on
Southern Ave in Little Falls. All equipment and instruction
will be provided by the YMCA.Instructors for the program are Mike Potter and Bill Mueller.The program will include a
land based orientation on water safety, knowing
your boat and equipment used.Water instruction on the
Mohawk River will include paddling techniques,
boat handling, boat stability, and appreciation of the outdoors,
and fitness benefits.

25th Annual Canal Celebration:
TBA. The Little Falls Canal Celebration is a week long event
that provides community wide programs and events that promote family
participation and awareness of the City's beautiful waterways,
natural resources, historic buildings, attractions, business,
industries and opportunities. Events include canoe and kayak
races, live entertainment, grande parade, ethnic food, adult and
youth fishing derbies, car show, beauth pageant, arts and crafts
show, farmer's market, foot races, bike races historical tours,
lectures, boat tours and cruises, fireworks and much more! For

Valley Gymnastics:Instruction in both equipment and floor work, designed to
help children strive for excellence, at their own pace, in a safe
fun and disciplined environment. Seven week sessions offered
September through June. $48 Annual Registration / Insurance
and $85 / seven week session. $6.00 discount for second

Driving:This program is the 6 hour New York
State Safety Program-Defensive Driving Course. Class Date
TBA 1-7 p.m. The class increases awareness and avoidance
of risky or potentially dangerous driving situations. At
completion of the course participants receive a certificate that
results in a 10% reduction in insurance rates &/or 4 points off
license traffic violations. Preregistration required.

Flurry: 10 K and 2 Mile Road Races and 2 Mile
Walk for Hunger. 10 K Course: Start and
finish near YMCA, changing terrain with challenging hills through
the streets of Little Falls. 2 Mile Run andWalk Course: Flat with some hills.
Fees: $20 and one food item to benefit Little
Falls Area Food Pantry. Times: Sunday,
